Day 25 – The fastest tour of Rome ever

We knew we only had the morning to see some of the main sights in Rome (sights we had all seen before). We managed to check out the Pantheon, the Trevi fountain (no way were we missing that!) the Quattro fontane and a couple of other minor sights on the way. Last minute market shopping and a good Italian meal later – and we were off to the airport. The flight was once again full – but the food on Emirates is excellent. We managed a few quiet z’s before arriving just after 1am. The customs hall was completely full – about 4-5 thousand people, and it took an age to get to the mad stamper. Once he was done – even trying to crack a joke (yes sir – Rome, Italy… not Paris) sometime after 2.30 in the morning, we found a taxi and headed to the hotel for some well needed kip.
